The U.S. state of Arkansas is a southern state that shares borders with six other states. The southern border is shared with Louisiana, its northern border with Missouri, its eastern border with Tennessee and Mississippi, and its western border with Texas and Oklahoma.

One of Arkansas’ many claims to fame is as the first place of discovery of diamonds. Since the first diamond was discovered on Murfreesboro, Arkansas, in 1906, over 75,000 diamonds have been unearthed. The site, called the Crater of Diamonds State Park, is the only diamond mine in the world where visitors can pay an entry fee to dig and find gems of their own.
